* Although there are 4 doors available, the list price is for 1 door only. The first 2 photos show the front and back of Door#5 which sold. We included them because they show how these doors look like with interior lighting and without anything blocking light from passing through the glass. The next 2 photos show Door#6, next 3 show Door#10, next 2 show Door#3, and the last 3 show Door#14.

Handsome, robust, school doors salvaged from the, "Christ The Teacher Academy," in Fort Lee, NJ.  They all have solid Douglas fir cores covered by 1/8" thick oak veneers. All doors are completely stained.

Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine    hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the   same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that   old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

Each door has 9 windows and a single, flat panel on both sides. 3 out of the 4 doors have honey-comb, textured glass lites surrounding a clear glass lite in the center.  Door#14 has 7 honey-comb textured glass lites and 2 clear lites. If you'd like a door with 9 clear glass lites we could replace them--message us for a quote.

Hardware: The doors are not equipped with any hardware.  However,  we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit them (check out  our store).

Uneven Size: The heights and/or widths of Doors#3 & 6 were unevenly cut (1/4" - 5/8"). The cuts were most likely to accommodate a warped floor or sagging foundation. We  could cut any to an even height/width, cut it narrower/shorter, or even build   it up to be wider/taller--message us for a quote.

Condition: The doors are strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. They only have nicks  and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious  issues. Otherwise, most of the blemishes that they have will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and  whatever  remains will be subtle, "character marks".

All of the glass is intact and also in great shape with only light scratches.

Modification: Do you want to replace the glass with other glass? Do you need the door taller/shorter or wider/narrower? Do you want to change the swing or just plug the hardware holes with solid wood so that you could install your own hardware? Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
