Lovely, 9-foot, vintage handrail salvaged from a 1940's home in Taylor, PA. The rail is made of steel and is painted black.

It has one thicker, vertical, square rod in the middle, flanked by 18 thinner square and twisted vertical spindles.

Since the piece is so long and symmetrical, you could actually cut it in half, and weld a 1" thick vertical post onto the piece you cut off to form 2 separate, matching handrails.

Unlike modern, hollow handrails, you could feel the strength and weight of this piece as soon as you grab it. If you're going to lean or put your weight on the handrail, you not only want it to have the capacity to do so, but you also want it to give you a sense that you could trust it. This handrail is definitely the type to give you that peace of mind.

Also, unlike many salvaged handrails, this piece was not cut out from it's original location. The rail was mounted onto 3 caps which are all included. You just need 6 screws.

The handrail is completely, straight, intact, and in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, dents, or gouges.  There is very little rust, so it's quite clean for an old, exterior handrail. It's strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service.
