31.5"x79" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged Victorian Interior SOLID Wood Wooden Doors 5 Panels

Elegant, antique, interior door salvaged from an old, Victorian home in Pottstown, PA. It's made of solid Douglas Fir or pine, and is painted on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak,   soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have    the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities    that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old  have. Old pine is  also   much harder and stronger than young pine.

The door has a Victorian style, 5-panel arrangement with 4 vertical panels divided by a small horizontal panel. The panels are raised on both sides.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit them (check out the "Hardware" section of our  store).

Quirks & Considerations:
The door's height & width was unevenly cut (1/4" - 5/8"). The cuts were most likely to compensate for a warped  floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the door to an even 31"x78 5/8", cut it shorter/narrower,  or even build it up to a larger size--message us for a quote.

One of the lower panels was replaced at some point. If you look at the 2 lower panels, you'll notice that one looks different than the other. 

Condition: The doors are strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. They have nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Door#2 has a small break on the bottom corner of the interior lock-stile (see last photo). Most of the blemishes that the doors have will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever  remains will be subtle, "character marks".

Swing: The hinge mortises span the thickness of the door. As a result, you could install your hinges on either side of the door, allowing you to define its swing.

Modification: Do you want to replace any of the wooden panels with glass? Do you need a door taller/shorter or wider/narrower? Do you want to change the swing or just plug the hardware holes with solid wood so that you could install your own hardware? Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
