Each pair has 3 recessed\/flat panels and 1 opening with adjustable louvers that swivel up and down by lifting and lowering the vertical, bar\/rod which is called the louver arm. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: medium;\"\u003eExcept for the adjustable louvers which are made of black walnut; the shutters are entirely made of Douglas Fir. Black walnut is a rare and valuable domestic wood and Douglas Fir is common domestic wood but holds up well to moisture. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: medium;\"\u003eThe shutters come with their original hinges.
