27"x68" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged Victorian Interior Closet Pantry Wood Wooden Door Panels

Charming, antique door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door is made of solid Heart Pine and features 4 recessed panels on each side.

Please note that heartpine  is the non-living, core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living  sap-wood. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of  heart stock it is rarer, harder, more durable, more insect & rot resistant,  less susceptible to warping and twisting, and is much more valuable than the  cheap, pine lumber that is commonly found at most hardware stores.

Hardware: The  door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection  of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store.

Condition:
On the exterior side of the door, there is a break in the lock housing; and  the bottom of the lock stile, the bottom of the hinge stile and the top of the  lock stile are chipped.

On the interior side of the door, the lock housing is chipped.
 
Otherwise, this door is strong, sturdy, and in great shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes--minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted.

Uneven Width: The  door's width  was unevenly cut by 1/4"  at some point, most likely to compensate  for an old warped floor or settling  foundation. We could cut the door to an  even 27", cut it  shorter/narrower, or even build it up to make it  taller/wider--email us for a  quote.

Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photo in this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.

Swing: The door is currently set up to swing inwards, towards  the right. However, we can modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--Email us for a quote.

Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, add decorative embellishments, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
