Spectacular
, antique windows salvaged from a recently demolished, 1889 home in the Greenridge section of Scranton, PA (see last 2 photos). Each window has wooden sash or frame made of Douglas Fir.

The windows have original, leaded skeletons and colorful glass and gems. Many of the diamond-shape pieces and jewels in the middle are opalescent

During the 1970's, storm windows were added in front of these windows for insulation purposes. Since there was no air circulation, humidity got trapped in between the new windows and these windows. This moisture weakened the strength and integrity of the leaded skeletons over time. As a result, parts of the skeleton sagged and broke, which caused some pieces of glass to fall out.

We also have a small ziplock bag with all pieces that we found at the point of salvage and the couple that fell off before we wrapped them (see 3rd to last photo). No gems are missing. They are either on the windows or in the bag.

The wooden frames are in great, structural condition and just have some scrapes and scratches along the sides where we had to pry them out.

Although we live in a small town with no access to stained glass repair, many of you live in or near larger cities which have the right shops to fix these windows. Based on the prices that we used to pay, I would estimate that it will cost $1,000 - $2,000 to put back or add the missing glass and fix the leaded skeletons of the windows.
