29.5"x87"x1.75" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged SOLID Wood Wooden French Door Window Wavy Glass

Handsome,  antique, French door salvaged from  Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid hardwood (possibly birch) core covered with  3/16" thick birch veneers on each side. It has a beautiful arrangement of  15,  true-divided, wavy glass lites.

Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike  the  paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers  are 3/16" thick and provide strength and stability to the door.

Hardware: Except for a mortise lock, the door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of  period hardware to outfit the door (check out our eBay store).

Quirks & Considerations:  The width and height  of the door were unevenly cut by 1/4" and 1/2" respectively, most likely to  compensate for a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the door to an even  29 1/4"x87", cut it shorter/narrower, or even build it up to a larger size--email  us for a quote.

The previous owner added a strip of wood to the bottom of the  door which makes it 7/8" taller (87 7/8" - 88 3/8"). If you don't want it, it  could easily be removed with a hammer or pry bar.

Condition: This door is in great shape with only surface  scrapes, scratches, small nail holes--minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be  removed during  the finishing process or covered if painted.

All of the glass is intact and also in great condition with only subtle scratches.

Refinish/Repaint: We  could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it  for you to repaint or refinish. See  the last photos in this auction as an example of our work. Email  us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a  quote.

Swing: The door is currently set up to swing inwardly towards  the right. However, we can modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--email us for a quote.

Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your  opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to  the height or width, replace glass with mirror or wooden panels, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us  with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a  quote.
