30"x77" Antique Vintage Old STRIPPED Reclaimed Salvaged Victorian SOLID Wood Wooden Interior Door 4 Panels

Charming, antique door salvaged from an old home in Pottstown, PA. The door is made of solid Douglas fir or pine, and is completely stripped The door has 4 raised panels on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft   wood.  New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the    same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant  qualities  that  old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old  have. Old pine  is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store.

Quirks & Considerations:

The door has 2 thin 1/8" gaps (see 4th photo). This is not a serious issue and the doors can still be installed and used for decades without the gaps widening. However, we could close the gaps using clamps and reinforce/secure the corners using modern glue and some dowels (wooden joints)--message us for a quote.

The height of the door was unevenly cut by 1/4". The cuts were most likely made to accommodate a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the door to an even height/width, or cut it narrower/shorter, or even build it up to be wider/taller--message us for a quote.

Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever  remains will be subtle, "character marks."

Swing: The hinge mortises span the thickness of the door allowing you to define its swing thus permitting you to install your hinges on either side.

Modification: Do you  want to replace the panels with glass, screen/mesh, or something  else? We could  modify the doors to fit your opening or suite your  needs. We could make a  frame, trim or add to the height or width,  reverse the swing, plug the hardware  holes, etc. Email us with a  small description of what you would like done, and  we'll give you a quote.
