30"x83" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged Interior Salvaged SOLID Wood Wooden Door 2 Panels

Handsome, antique, interior door salvaged from the Advent Lutheran church in York, PA. The door has a solid pine core covered in a 1/8" pine veneer and has 2 raised panels on both sides. The door is stained on both sides.

Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine  hewn  from 10 - 20  year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant,  rot-resistant, or even  fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from   trees hundreds of years old  has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger  than young pine.

Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a  good selection of  hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store).

Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks."

Swing: The door is set up to swing into a room towards the right or away from a room towards the left. We can modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.

Modification: Do you want to replace the panels with glass, screen/mesh, or something else? We could modify the door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
