30"x86"x1.5" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged Exterior Interior SOLID Wood Wooden Door 6 Panel

Handsome, antique, interior door salvaged from a newly-remodeled,1920's home in the most affluent neighborhood in Scranton, PA. The door is made of solid pine or Douglas Fir and is completely painted.  It has  6 recessed (flat), horizontal, stacked panels on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap,  weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year  old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even  fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds  of years old have. Old pine is also much  harder and stronger than  young  pine.

Hardware: The door  is not equipped with hardware.  However, we  have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our  physical store.

Uneven Size: The  width  of door was unevenly cut by 1/4" and the height was unevenly cut by 1/2". The  cuts were most likely made to accommodate a warped  floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the door to an even height, cut it  narrower/shorter, or even build it up to be wider/taller--email  us for a quote.

Condition: The  second panel from the bottom is cracked and there are a bunch of scratches next  to and under the bottom panel on the exterior side (see last 3 photos). Most of  the scratches should disappear after sanding and if you cut the bottom of the  door by 1/2" to even it's height, that should eliminate the scratches on the  bottom of the door too. The cracked panel could be filled with a compound or  filler prior to painting.

Otherwise, expect only nicks, scrapes/chips, and scratches, but no breaks,  cracks, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes  that it has  will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever  remains will be subtle, "character marks."

Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the  door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photo in  this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of  what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.

Swing: The  door  is set up to swing into a room towards the right, or away from the room towards  the left. We could change the swing--email  us for a quote.

Modification:   Do you want to replace the  panels with glass, screen/mesh, or something else? We could modify the doors to  fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the  height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with  a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
