31.5"x88" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged Victorian Interior SOLID Wood Wooden Door 6 Panels

Handsome, antique, interior door salvaged from an from an old, Victorian home built in the late 1800's in Northeastern PA. It's made of solid Douglas Fir or  pine, and is painted white on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft   wood. New pine   hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have   the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant  qualities   that  old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old  have. Old pine is also   much harder and stronger than young pine.

The door has a Victorian style, 6-panel arrangement with 4  vertical and 2 horizontal panels. The panels are raised on both sides.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However,  we have a good selection of  period hardware to outfit them (check out the "Hardware" section of our store).

Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. it only has nicks  and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues.  The door has a small break on the bottom middle-stile (see 5th photo), a break  on the bottom corner of the interior hinge-stile (see last photo) and a break in  one of the panels (see 4th photo). Expansion and contraction occurs naturally due to changes in  temperature, and  the cracks are just a result of this process over the course  of many years. It  may sound funny, but when the panels expanded and reached  their limits within  their openings or frames; they were unable to stretch out  any further, and  ultimately cracked in the center to relieve their stress or  tension.

Otherwise, Most of the blemishes that it has will  disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and  whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks"

Swing: The door is set up to swing into a room towards the right or away from a room  towards the left. We can change the swing---Message us for a quote.

Modification: Do you want to replace any of the wooden panels with glass? Do you need a door taller/shorter or wider/narrower? Do you want to change the swing or just plug the hardware holes with solid wood so that you could install your own hardware? Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
