32x78.5"x1.5" Antique Vintage Victorian Old Reclaimed Salvaged SOLID Wood Wooden Interior Door 4 Panels

Handsome, antique, interior door salvaged from a late 1800's, Brownstone in Brooklyn, NY (see last photo). It's made of solid Douglas Fir or pine, and is painted on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft   wood. New pine   hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant  qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also   much harder and stronger than young pine.

The door has a Victorian style, 4-panel arrangement with 4 vertical panels. The panels are recessed (flat) on both sides.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit it (check out our online store).

Uneven Size: The width of the door was unevenly cut by 1/2" while the height of the door by 3/8". The cuts were most likely to accommodate for a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the door to an even height/width, build it up to be taller/wider, or even trim it to be narrower/shorter--message us for a quote.

Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no breaks, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. One of it's panels is split (cracked)--see 2nd to last photo--and another panel is missing it's top piece of molding--see 4th photo. Directly above the panel with the missing molding, a thin portion of the cross rail is missing--see 4th photo. We could repair these 3 issues--message us for a price.

Otherwise, most of the blemishes that the door has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks".

Swing: The door is set up to swing into a room towards the left or away from the room towards the right. We could modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.

Modification: We could also modify the door to fit your opening or suite your  needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace panels with glass, plug the  hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what  you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
