New pine   hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the  same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that  old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. This one is not only narrow, but almost 7-foot tall and a standard 1 3\/4\" exterior door thickness. Since it has plenty of wood under the windows, the door could be cut very short if needed.
