34"x79"x1.5" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged SOLID Wood Wooden Exterior Interior Door 6 Panel

Rare,  antique door salvaged from an old, bed and  breakfast in Kulpmont, PA. The door is made of either solid Douglas Fir or pine and is  completely painted white. It has an uncommon, shaker style, 6-panel  arrangement. The  panels are raised on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft   wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same   insect-resistant,  rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old   pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

Hardware: Aside  from a mortise lock, no door is equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store.

Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It has nicks, scrapes, scratches,  and small nail holes which you would expect to find on a 100+ year-old door.  However, most of these blemishes will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks."

Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the doors to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photo in this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.

Swing:  I'm not sure how this door was previously installed, but there are no hinge  mortises (slots or pockets). This means you could drill your holes wherever you  like and define the swing of the door.

Modification: We could  modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could   make a  frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace wooden panels with   glass,  reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small    description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
