64"x88"x1.75" Pair Antique Old Reclaimed Salvaged Vintage French Double Wood Interior Doors Glass

Beautiful pair of antique double  doors salvaged from the  home of the former mayor of Pittston, PA. The doors are made of solid Cypress, and are stained on both sides.

Also note that chestnut is a rare and valuable wood; it’s not  commercially  available due to the blight introduced between 1900 & 1908, which  made the North  American chestnut trees virtually extinct by 1940.

Each door has an impressive arrangement of 15, true-divided windows with old,  beveled glass.

Hardware: Door#2  comes equipped with it's original top and bottom flushbolts (see last photo). If you'd like to  replace, or add more hardware to the doors, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store).

Uneven Width: The width of Door#2 was unevenly cut by 1/4".  The cuts were made at some point to compensate for a warped floor or sagging  foundation. We could cut either door to an even height/width, cut them narrower  or shorter, or even build them up to be bigger/taller--message us for a  quote.

Condition: The doors are strong,   sturdy, and in excellent condition. They only have nicks and scratches, but no   breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, or any  other serious issues. Most of  the blemishes that they have will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever  remains will be subtle, "character marks".

All of the glass is intact and also in great condition with only subtle scratches.

Modification: We could also modify the doors to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace glass with panels etc. Email us with a small description of what  you would like done, and we'll give  you a quote.
