Antique Vintage Old Primitive Wood Wooden "Independent Fruit Brand" Pear Produce Box Crate Container Bin Storage Decor Mantle Shelf Decoration

Lovely, antique, wooden box salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. It's made of solid wood, is unpainted, and the 4 sides of the box are connected with nails.
I'm estimating the box is 75 - 100 years old.

The box was made by "Independent Brand Northwest Pears".

The box was originally made to transport pears distributed by Washington Fruit & Produce Co." from Yakima, Washington. However, you can tell by the condition, that the box was most likely used once or twice, then cast aside. This allowed it to be preserved over the years.

How you can tell the piece is old is that by the 1950s, cardboard boxes began replacing wooden crates, which means this is an original pre 1950's box.

The label has a few small rips on the edges, and typical wear for an item this old. However, there are very few nicks and scratches. The piece was well built and is strong & sturdy. It's ready for another lifetime of service!
