Lovely, solid wood, upholstered chair salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. The chair is made of a solid hardwood (oak or walnut) and has a dark-stained finish. It has a blue, thick, upholstered fabric with brown and green dots. It is very well-built and is quite heavy. I'm estimating the piece is between 80 - 100 years old.

The piece has a very unique Victorian "barrel" design. It has a very large backrest and armrests. There are 4, elegantly turned (carved) legs each with a caster.

Our carpenter inspected the chair from top to bottom, and didn't need to make any repairs or tighten anything as the chair is strong and sturdy.

The only piece of damage is on the chair is a VERY small rip in the fabric underneath one of the armrests (see last photo).

The worst blemish as seen in the photos, is the wear of the color on the seat. It was most likely left in an open room with direct sunlight beaming down on it for many years. However, other than the color, the fabric is in amazing condition, and the seat has no give or slack. It seems as if the previous owner used it for decoration, instead of sitting on it.

Expect nicks and light scratches, but no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, or warp. This chair is ready for another lifetime of service.
