HUGE Vintage Antique Old Reclaimed Salvaged American Eagle SOLID Cast Brass Door Knocker Rapper

The knocker is made of solid, heavy, thick, cast brass, not plated steel.  The 2 original installation screws are included. Surprisingly, those 2  screws were the only things holding the knocker in place. You would  think they would be too small, but as long as you lodge the ends of the  bolts into the door, the screws will be all you need.

It has gorgeous design of an Eagle with a shield  covering it's body, with arrows in its right talons and a reef in its  left--looks similar to the eagle on the tail-side of a quarter. The  design is enhanced by a rich, original patina (tarnish). If you prefer a clean,  shiny look, you could remove the patina with "Brasso" and some #0000  steel wool.
 

The door knocker is in fantastic condition with only tiny  nicks and subtle scratches There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or gouges.  It's ready for another lifetime of service.
