Pair 4' Antique Vintage Old Steel Wrought Iron Metal Handrail Exterior Outdoor Porch Angled Stair Railing Hand Rails

Sturdy, vintage handrails salvaged from Northeastern PA. The rails are made of steel and are painted black. Each has 2 thick, square, end posts with 8 thinner, square and twisted spindles in between. 

There is a lovely design in the center consisting of several, thin, curved or curled pieces which help to add some style to each handrail.  Both ends of the handrail slopes diagonally into the post and then curves out slightly.

Unlike modern, hollow handrails, you could feel the strength and weight of these pieces as soon as you grab them. If you're going to lean or put your weight on a handrail before you take each step, you not only want it to have the capacity to do so, but you also want it to give you a sense that you could trust it. These handrails are definitely the type to give you that peace of mind.

Also, unlike many salvaged handrails, these were not cut out from their original location. The top of the rails are mounted onto 2 caps which are included. You just need 4 screws to fasten them to the top step. The bottom ends have square plates that are permanently attached to the posts. Unfortunately, one is pretty rotted and needs to be replaced. However, it's just a basic, square steel plate which any welder could replace.

Otherwise, the handrails are completely, straight, intact, and in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, dents, or gouges. There is some rust along the bottom rails (see photos of rails upside down) but it's minor and could be sanded off prior to repainting. Both handrails are strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service.

• Width: angled portion of handrail is 46.5" and the straight portion at the top is 7". From end to end, it's 51.5"
   
• Height: 30" at top end and 32" at bottom end
   
• Depth of handrail is 2"
   
• Rods/Spindles are 1/2"x1/2" thick and the end posts are 1"x1"
   
• Spacing is 3.25" - 4.25" between the rods/spindles
