Pair Antique 1874 Vintage Old Salvaged Reclaimed Victorian Greek Revival Neo Grec Solid Cast Bronze CORBIN Doorknobs Door Knobs
Pair Antique 1874 Vintage Old Salvaged Reclaimed Victorian Greek Revival Neo Grec Solid Cast Bronze CORBIN Doorknobs Door Knobs
Gorgeous, rare, original, antique door knobs made by, "P.F. Corbin Mfg. Co." of New Britain, CT during circa 1874. Both are made of solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze. The pair comes with a standard-size, square, steel spindle and 2 setscrews to connect the knobs.
For their size, they're exceptionally heavy!
Each knob has an intricate, Greek Revival (Neo-Grec) style pattern on both front and back sides. The center of the top of the knob and the inner half of the under side are sunken (depressed, concave). This an extremely rare feature which only knobs of this time period have.
The beauty of the details are accented by a rich patina. The last photo shows a similar knob cleaned to give you an idea of how these knobs would've looked like when they were new and how they could look if cleaned.
Considering that the knobs are almost about 150 years old, they are in amazing condition! They have NO breaks, cracks, chips, dents, deep scratches, gouges, or any object stuck inside which would rattle when moved. Just expect tiny nicks and light scratches.
These knobs are hard to come by--especially in such fine condition! If you like them, grab them now before someone else does. It is very unlikely that another opportunity like this will present itself anytime soon.
