Beautiful, solid wood, vintage armchairs salvaged from Northeastern PA. They are made of a solid hardwood (i.e. maple, birch, etc.) and are stained and finished (unpainted).

You could tell that these are high-end chairs because nothing is plain! All 4 legs, the 4 stretchers that connect them, and the 9 spindles in the backrest are all turned (round carvings). The seat and top of the back rest are curved and upholstered with black vinyl fabric. The perimeters of both the seat and backrest are adorned with ornate, brass-plated steel grommets (tacks)

Our carpenter inspected both chairs from top to bottom, and didn't need to glue or reinforce anything as the chairs are strong and sturdy.

Considering their age, the chairs are in great condition with only the typical nicks and scratches that you would expect to find on old, used chairs. Other than 7 tiny scratches on one of the seats, all of the fabric is intact and in great shape. The only aspect of these chairs that is not in good condition is the finish. There are many spots where the original stain and finish are worn. However, if you prefer a distressed, aged look, then this is actually a plus.

These chairs are wide and comfortable, and built as solid as a rock. They are ready for another lifetime of service.
