Set of 4 Antique Vintage Old "Solid Kumfort" Louis Rastetter Red Black Wood Wooden Foldable Fold Out Side Dining Accent Desk Chair Vinyl Fabric Seat

Gorgeous, red and black, vintage, fold-out chairs salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. They were made by, "Louis Rastetter & Sons," of Fort Wayne, IN sometime around the middle of the previous century. All are made of solid wood, upholstered with black vinyl, and connected together with steel bars and stretchers.

Each chair has a painted, fleur de lis and 2 painted foliage motifs on the front side of the upper backrest. They all have the manufacturer's stamp on the back too.

The red and black paint is vibrant and the crackled tint on top of the paint is dried varnish or lacquer.

Our carpenter inspected the chairs from top to bottom, and didn't need to make any repairs or reinforce any of the joints. He said that the front of one chair broke and the person who glued it could've done a better job and made it less noticeable. Otherwise, it's tight and does the job.

The chairs are in excellent condition. Aside from the repaired break, there are no breaks, cracks, dents, gouges, rot, or warp. The hinges move easily and a free of any breaks, cracks, or corrosion. The upholstery is clean and free of stains or odors. These lovely chairs are ready for a lifetime of service!
