Felt underneath. Lamp comes with heavy duty brass plated metal harp with fixed height with sturdy saddle attachment. Finial is a decorative brass knob at very top of the harp. Lamp comes with electrical cord paired with hard plastic plug. Lamp operates with a 3-way rotary switch, Leviton socket lamp holder and takes a 3-way, medium base E26 light bulb.
