Vintage Pair of Solid Brass Round Bookends Chinese Shou Symbol Design Oriental Asian Home Decor

Pair of vintage brass round bookends from the 1970s featuring a Chinese ‘shou’ symbol. Shou, the Chinese symbol of longevity, is usually represented with a circle of the "Wu Fu," or five bats. These bats represent the five blessings of longevity: long life, good health, comfortable wealth, virtue, and peaceful death. The symbol was printed on a stamp issued by China in 1894.
