14"x84" Antique Vintage Old Salvaged Reclaimed Interior SOLID Wood Wooden Closet Pantry Door Panel

Ultra-rare, interior door salvaged from an old home in  Central NJ. The door is made of either solid Douglas Fir or pine and is completely painted white. It has a traditional, Arts & Crafts style design with single recessed (flat) panels on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft   wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same  insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old   pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder  and stronger than young  pine.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit it (check out our store).

Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in excellent structural condition. It does have some scrapes along some of the edges and a dent in the top corner (see last photo). If you need the door a bit shorter, there is plenty of wood at the top to cut from and it would also remove the dent. If you need the full 84"H and would like the dented corner rebuilt with wood--message us for a quote.

Otherwise, the door has  the typical nicks and scratches, which  will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever  remains will be subtle, "character marks." There are no breaks,  cracks, rot, warp, or any serious issues. The door is very well-built and is ready for another lifetime of service.

Swing: The door  is set up to swing into a room towards the left, or away from the room  towards the right. We could change the  swing--email us for a quote.

Modification: Do you want to replace the panel with glass, screen/mesh, or something else? We could modify the door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
