Handsome, antique, closet door salvaged from an old, home in Northeastern New Jersey. This door was original to the home's construction and the home was built during the first half of the previous century. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine, it's heavy for it's size, it has 6 raised panels, and is painted on both sides.
When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.
The door was originally 24" but cut down to 19 1/2", we could rebuild it back up to 24"--Email us for a quote.
Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of hardware to outfit them (check out our eBay store).
* If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote.
Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in excellent condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues, that last photo shows the worst damage on the door. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks
