26"x72" Antique Vintage Old Solid Wood Wooden Interior Doors 2 Panels

Handsome, antique, interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern, PA. The door is made of either solid Douglas Fir or pine and are stained. It has a traditional, Arts & Crafts style, 2 recessed (flat) panel arrangement.

Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn  from 10  - 20  year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant,  or even  fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from   trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of  period hardware to outfit it (check out the "Hardware" section of our store).

Uneven Size: The height and width was unevenly cut by 1/4" at some point, most likely to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut the door to an even 25 3/4"x72", cut it narrower and/or shorter, or even build it up to make them bigger--message us for a quote.

Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. The worst flaws are shown in the 4th photo: 2 small breaks and a dent. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks".

Swing: The door  swings into a room towards the right, away from the room towards the left.. We could Modify it to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.

Modification: Do you want to replace the panels with glass, screen/mesh, or something else? We  could modify the doors to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a  frame, trim or add to the heights or widths, reverse the swing, plug the  hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like  done, and we'll give you a quote.
