Handsome, antique interior doors salvaged from an old home in Northeastern, PA. The doors are made of solid pine and have 5 raised panels on both sides.

We found both doors stripped of paint and stain. They are about 95% stripped. There are still some spots of white paint-- mostly around the molding. If you are panning on staining, I would recommend about another 2 hours of detail sanding and 2 - 3 hours of sanding with fine-grain sandpaper for a smooth finish. If you are planning on painting, the door is ready to prime and paint.

Hardware: Each door comes with it's original, copper-plated steel lockset. They are fully functional and in great condition.

The doors were hung using surface-mounted hinges so there are no hinge mortises (slots or pockets) carved into the sides of the doors.

Quirks & Considerations: 

Door#2's width was unevenly cut at some point by 1/4". This happens often as a house ages and it's foundation sags or floors warp. It's less expensive to adjust a door's height than to fix the source of the problem. We could cut the door to an even 29 3/4", cut it narrower/shorter, or even build it up to make it wider/taller--message us for a quote.

Door#2 has 1/8" wide gaps between it's horizontal rails and it's vertical, hinge stile. As the wood expanded and contracted during changes in the temperature and humidity, the paint starting wedging itself in between the joints. Once the former owner stripped the door, the paint was removed and the gaps became obvious. Since these gaps are so thin, the door could be installed as-is and the gaps will not widen. If you want them closed, the door's width will go from 29 3/4"  - 30" to 29 5/8" - 29 7/8".

Condition: The doors are in great condition. They have nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. 

Swing: Since the doors were hung using surface-mounted hinges, you could make the first cuts on the side of the door and define the way it swings.

Modification: Do you want to make a pair using these 2 doors? We could modify the doors to fit your opening or suite your needs. Trim or add to the heights or widths, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
