Handsome, antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in  Northeastern, PA. The door is made of solid Douglas fir or pine and is completely painted. There are 2, vertical, recessed (flat) panels below the glass windows on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, and    soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the  same insect-resistant,  rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that  old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old. Old pine   is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

The door had 4, true-divided windows with old glass, however, not only is the glass missing, but the door is also missing a cross mullein.
There are several options: we could make a replacement mullein and install it to make it a 4-window door again, we could remove the other cross mullein to make it a 2, vertical window door, or we could remove the all of the mulleins (including the center piece), to make it a single-window door. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection   of period hardware to outfit it (check out our store).

Condition: The door is strong,  sturdy, and in good structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches,  but no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks".

Swing: The door is set up to swing into a home towards the left, or away from the home towards the right. We could modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.
 

Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could trim or add to the height or width, add screen instead of glass,  reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small  description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
