29"x35" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged EMPIRE Wood Wooden Wall Dresser Vanity Mirror Glass

Charming, antique mirror salvaged from Northeast PA. I'm estimating this piece is about 70 - 80 years old. The frame is made of a solid hardwood and retains its original stain and finish. The glass was hand-blown and has a slight wavy distortion (like reflections in wavy glass).

If you look closely at the photos, you'll notice 2 metallic objects protruding from the sides of the frame. Those were used to attach the mirror to a stand or bracket that sat atop a dresser. The mirror used to swivel up and down. Although you could build a custom stand for it, it would be much easier to just affix to a wall.  

The mirror was stored in an attic for years. The solid, wood frame withstood the humidity, but the plywood backing didn't fare so well. It's still strong and does it's job of keeping the glass in place, but doesn't look pretty. If you're planning on installing it on a wall, the backing will be hidden. However, if you do want to install it as a swivel mirror and don't like how the backing looks, it could always be replaced with a fresh sheet of plywood.

The silvering is worn in a couple of spots. They are small, but noticeable. We tried taking photos from several angles to reveal these spots, but it wasn't easy. The best photo that shows these spots is the 3rd to last, the one showing the sky, gutter, and trees. If you are a fan of antiques and distressed condition, you'll appreciate these quirks and not see them as "damage. The glass is free of breaks, cracks, nicks, or spalls.

The wooden frame is in great shape with only the typical tiny nicks, light scratches, and spots of worn finish that you would expect to find on an old, used mirror. No breaks, cracks, rot, warp, or loose joints.
