30"x77" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged Victorian SOLID Wood Wooden Interior Door 4 Panels

Lovely, interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern, PA. The  door is made of either solid Douglas Fir or pine and is completely painted  on both sides. It has a traditional, Victorian style design with 4 raised, vertical panels on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft   wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the  same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store.

Quirks & Considerations:

There is a thin (1/8") gap between the lock stile and top rail (see last photo). This is not a serious issue and the door could still be installed and used for decades without the gap widening. However, we could close the gap using clamps and reinforce/secure the corner using modern glue and some dowels (wooden joints)--message us for a quote.

The door's height unevenly cut by 3/4". The cuts were made most likely to compensate for a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the door to an even height/width, cut it shorter/narrower, or even build it up to a larger size--message us for a quote.

Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It only has nicks  and scratches, but no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious  issues. Most of the blemishes that it has will  disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever  remains will be subtle, "character marks."

Swing: The door is set up to swing into a room towards the left, or away towards the right. We could modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.

Modification: Do you  want to replace the panels with glass, screen/mesh, or something  else? We could  modify the doors to fit your opening or suite your  needs. We could make a  frame, trim or add to the height or width,  reverse the swing, plug the hardware  holes, etc. Email us with a  small description of what you would like done, and  we'll give you a quote.
