31.5x79" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged SOLID Wood Wooden Entry Door Panels NO GLASS

Beautiful, antique door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern PA. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine and is painted  on the exterior side and stained on the interior side.

Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine   hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the  same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that  old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much  harder and stronger than young  pine.

The door has a window with a single glass lite. The door has 1 panel above the glass and 2 panels below the glass.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store).

Condition: The door  is strong, sturdy, and in great  structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked  joints, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. The door is missing all  of it's molding on the exterior side, and has a cracked panel (see last photo).  Expansion and contraction occurs naturally due to changes in temperature, and  the cracks are just a result of this process over the course of many years. It  may sound funny, but when the panels expanded and reached their limits within  their openings or frames; they were unable to stretch out any further, and  ultimately cracked in the center to relieve their stress or tension.

Otherwise, most of the blemishes that it has will disappear  after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and  whatever  remains will  be subtle, "character marks".

Swing: The  door is set up to swing into a home towards the right or away from the home  towards the left.
We could modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--message  us for a quote.

Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could  make  a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace glass with screen, reverse   the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small  description  of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
