31"x83"x1.75" Antique Vintage Wooden Old Reclaimed Salvaged Interior French Door Window Beveled Glass

Beautiful, antique, French door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern, OH. The door has a solid Oak core covered in a 1/8" thick Oak veneer. The door is stained on both sides.

Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door.

The door has an impressive arrangement of 15, true-divided windows with old, beveled glass. The glass is covered in paint stripper on both sides. We could remove the paint stripper--message us for a quote


Hardware: The door does not come equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of  period hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store).

Quirks & Considerations:
There is a thin (1/8") gap between the lock stile and top rail (see 4th photo). This is not a serious issue and the door could still be installed and used for decades without the gap widening. However, we could close the gap using clamps and reinforce/secure the corner using modern glue and some dowels (wooden joints)--message us for a quote.

Condition: The door is strong, sturdy and in great structural condition. It has the typical scrapes,   scratches, and small nail holes that you would expect to find on an old, used door. The door has a few small breaks in the veneer (see last photo). However, there are no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, or warp. The  small blemishes they have will disappear or diminish drastically after stripping and sanding.

All of the glass is intact and also in great condition with only subtle scratches.

Swing: The door is set up to swing into a room towards the right and away from a room towards the left. We could modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.

Modification: Do you want to fill the windows with wooden panels, screen/mesh, or something  else? We could modify the door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could  make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the  hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like  done, and we'll give you a quote.
