Handsome, antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern, PA. The door is made of solid pine or Douglas Fir and is painted white on the front and stained on the back.

Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine   hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the  same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that  old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much  harder and stronger than young  pine.

The door has an impressive arrangement of 15, true-divided glass lites. The glass is old, "wavy" glass . You could see in the photos that one window is missing glass. We plan on putting in a matching, wavy glass lite prior to shipping or pick up. We custom cut old glass from our collection of old windows so the glass we use is genuine, antique not new or reproduction.

Hardware: The door does not come with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to it (check out the "Hardware" section of our store).

The door was originally a part of a pair. This was the door that was locked in place with it's vertical, slide bolts for the majority of the time. These bolts were removed and only the rectangular mortises (holes) remain.

Swing: The door is set up to swing into the house towards the right or away from the house towards the left. We could modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.

Condition: This door is strong, sturdy, and in excellent condition. There are no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, etc. Expect nicks, scrapes, and scratches--blemishes that will sand out prior to refinishing or repainting. The glass is also fully intact and in great shape. The door is ready for another lifetime of service.

It is very hard to find a narrow entry door (28" - 30"). This one is not only narrow, but almost 7-foot tall and a standard 1 3/4" exterior door thickness. Since it has plenty of wood under the windows, the door could be cut very short if needed. If you need a door this size, don't wait too long because once it's gone, it may be awhile until another one comes along.
