32"x80" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged Victorian Interior SOLID Wood Wooden Door Raised Panel

Charming, antique door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern  Pennsylvania. The door is made of solid pine or Douglas Fir and features a Victorian style, 4 raised panel  design on each side. It weighs about 37lbs.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, and soft wood. New   pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, 
rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine,  hewn from trees  hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and  stronger than young  pine.

Hardware: The  door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection  of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store.

Condition: The door was forced open at some point which blew out  the lock housing. It seems bad, but all we would have to do is cut out the bad  spot and fill it with a solid block of wood. Once plugged, you'll be able to  drill and cut into it like any other part of the door.

There is a crack in one of the top panels and another in one of the bottom  panels. Although the cracks span the height of the panels, they are tight and  show no signs of getting worse. Once sanded (possibly puttied) and painted over;  you'll never see them again.

There is a deep, horizontal scrape in the top of the lock stile (see photo). It  will come out after sanding.
 
Otherwise, this door is strong, sturdy, and in great shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes--minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted.

Uneven Width: The  door's width was unevenly cut by 1/4"  at some point, most likely to compensate  for an old warped floor or settling  foundation. We could cut the door to an  even 32", cut it  shorter/narrower, or even build it up to make it  taller/wider--email us for a  quote.

Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photo in this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.

Swing: The door is currently set up to swing inwards, towards  the right. However, we can modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--Email us for a quote.

Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, add decorative embellishments, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
