32"x83.5"x1.75" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged Interior Exterior SOLID Wood Wooden Door 2 Panels

Charming, antique door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern, PA. The door has a solid Douglas fir core covered in a 1/8" thick Heartpine veneer, and is stained on both sides. The door has 2 recessed (flat) panels on both sides.

Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door.

The door has 2 panels on both sides. Unlike most 2-panel doors which have flat panels and simple molding, this has raised panels and fancy raised (applied) molding.

Hardware: The door comes equipped with a metal brace bolted into the top rail of the door (see 4th photo). If you'd like to add hardware to the door we have a good selection of hardware to outfit it. (check out our store).

Quirks & Considerations: The door has 2 small (1/8") gaps (see 5th photo). This is not a serious issue and the door could still be installed and used for decades without the gap widening. However, we could close the gap using clamps and reinforce/secure the corner using modern glue and some dowels (wooden joints)--message us for a quote.

Condition: Considering the door is well at least 100 years old, it is strong, sturdy and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no  broken/cracked joints or any other serious issues. The door has minor breaks/cracks in the veneer (see last photo). Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be  subtle, "character marks".

Swing: The door is set up to swing into a home towards the left or away from a home towards the right. We could modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.

Modification: We could also modify the door to fit your opening or suite  your  needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or   width, replace panels with glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes,  etc. Message us with a small description of what you would like done,  and we'll give you a quote.
