40"x79" Pair Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged French Double Interior Wood Wooden Doors 20 Windows Glass

Exquisite pair of antique double  doors salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The doors are made of solid Douglas fir and are painted on both sides

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft   wood.  New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the    same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant  qualities  that  old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old  have. Old pine  is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

Each door has an impressive arrangement of 10, true-divided windows with old glass.

Hardware: Door#1 comes equipped with its original lock. Door#2 comes equipped with its original strike-plate. If you would like to add more or replace the current hardware of door, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit them (check out our store).

Uneven Size:  Door#1's width was unevenly cut by 1/4" and Door#2's height by 3/8". The cuts were most likely made to accommodate a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut either door to an even height/width, or cut them narrower/shorter, or even build them up to be wider/taller--message us for a quote.

Condition: The doors are strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. They only have nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, rot, or warp. The only damage on the door is a break on the hinge-stile of Door#1 (see last photo). The remaining, damaged wood can be chiseled or cut to make a flat surface, then we can fill in the empty space with a fresh piece of wood--message us for a quote.

Otherwise, most of the blemishes that they have will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever  remains will be subtle, "character marks".

All of the glass is intact and also in great condition with only subtle scratches.

Modification: We could also modify the doors to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace glass with panels etc. Email us with a small description of what  you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
