72x80x1.75" Pair Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged Victorian SOLID Wood Wooden Double Pocket Doors

RARE, antique, interior door salvaged from a late 1800's, Home in Wayne, PA (see last photo). The door is made of solid Pine, and is painted on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft   wood. New pine   hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant  qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

The door has a Victorian style, 4-panel arrangement with 4 vertical panels. The panels are raised on both sides. The panels are reeded and have shamford edges with Lark's tongue, details in the corners.

Hardware: The doors are not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit it (check out our online store).

Uneven Width:
The door's width was unevenly cut by 3/8". The cuts were made most likely to compensate for a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the door to an even  height/width, cut it shorter/narrower, or even build it up to a larger size--message us for a quote.

Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no breaks, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Otherwise, most of the blemishes that the door have will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks".

Swing: The hinge mortises span the thickness of the door. This allows you to define its swing and install your hinges on either side.

Modification: We could also modify any door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could trim or add to the heights or widths, replace panels with glass, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what  you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
