Lovely, antique fence salvaged from an old, Victorian home in Northeastern PA. The rail is made of steel and is painted black.

It has 14 vertical, round, spindles (rods or bars), from side to side. Topping these spindles are 3.5 arches, 4 steeple tips, and 3 balls.

Unlike modern, lightweight fencing, you could feel the strength and weight of this piece as soon as you grab it.

Quirks & Considerations:

This section of fence was cut short which is why one of the arches is incomplete. That's also why the top, horizontal rail is 1" narrower than the bottom rail. The other, uncut ends still have their original installation plates which have pre-cut holes to insert bolts.

One of the spindles is slightly bent. It's so subtle that I didn't notice it when I took the photos. I only noticed it now after I edited the photos. We will straighten it out prior to shipping.

Condition:

Other than the aforementioned spindle, the handrail is completely, straight, intact, and in good condition with no breaks, cracks, dents, or gouges.

The whole piece is quite clean with little rust. The majority of the rust is at the bottom, but it's light,

The piece is strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service.
