Antique Brass Art&Crafts The Greist Mfg Co. Pat. 1925 Sconce Table Desk Lamp Clamp w/ Clip on Conical Brass Shade

For sale is an antique brass Arts & Crafts adjustable lamp that "hangs, stands or clamps”. This signed Greist Mfg Co., New Haven Connecticut brass plated metal lamp can serve as a wall sconce, or it can be pivoted to stand straight up and be used as a table/desk lamp or clamps to chair/headboard. The base clamp is adjustable and retractable and it clamps in any object up to 2 inches thick. Lamp base displays an embossed leaf design. The lamp neck has an adjustable “pivot” that enables the lamp shade to be adjusted up and down. Clip-on conical shade is made of brass (possible not original to the lamp). The lamp operates with a push-through on/off switch. Socket is original to the lamp. Old wiring is very short, but I was able to hook up a cord to it and the socket works fine. A 40-watt equivalent LED standard base light bulb recommended preventing the shade from getting too hot. Measures approx.: 7" tall (without lampshade). 11” tall when upright (with shade).

Shade is 7" in diameter.

Good pre-owned conditions with some surface wear, normal patina and spotting from age which is to be expected. No paint loss on black accents of the base design. Some rust on metal parts. Shade has a vertical crack (1 ½”). Please see pictures. The advice and services of a licensed electrician are highly recommended in order to safely use this fixture.
