Antique Hand Carved Half Moon Wooden Wall Mount Sconce Shelf Hanging Wall Pocket Match Holder Pinecone Motif Small Items Display

This listing is for an antique, hand carved, half-moon, solid wood (cherry or walnuts), wall sconce shelf. Front side features an ornate, shield-like back plate, a semicircular display edge and a support corbel intricately carved to look like a pineapple or pinecone. The other side shows what really the back plate is: a bull’s eye corner block door or window trim. It is decorated with primitive /folk art style geometric floral/leaf carving. A small metal hanging loop is attached at the top, allowing to be hung from a nail or hook on a wall. 

Common Historical uses: 
*Pocket watch display bracket: Victorians frequently used similar small wall shelf next to beds or desks to hold a standard pocket watch.
*Folk Art wall pocket /match striker: Often, these were hung near fireplaces or stoves to hold matches, small keys, or trinkets.
