This listing is for an antique hand shaped roofing slate (over 200 years old) featuring a lithograph print of Brulator Courtyard in New Orleans Louisiana, USA, by artist Archie Boyd. Print is signed: “ Arch”. Slate comes with a leather string for wall hanging and its original nail holes. On the back, there is information regarding the Brulator Court and the artist Archie Boyd, who was an engineer by profession but an artist at heart. Also, on the bottom can be read: “These slates were mined in Pennsylvania and floated down the Ohio or Mississippi Rivers on rafts. They were used for roofing materials after the disastrous fire in 1795. This slate came from an old building in the Vieux Carre, New Orleans and dates back to the 1800’s”.

Measures approx.: 14” H x 11” W x ¼” Depth.
