This is a handsome, antique mahogany china cabinet in the classic American Federal and Chippendale styles. This two-piece display cabinet features an eye-catching broken arch (swan-neck) pediment top, two large mullioned glass doors, and a spacious lower cabinet configuration, making it a perfect addition to any dining room, library, or study.
The upper section opens to reveal deep display shelving with built-in plate grooves, perfect for showing off fine china, glassware, or books. The lower section features a wide, smooth-sliding drawer with classic brass bail pull hardware on decorative oval escutcheons, sitting above a double-door cabinet that opens to a massive storage area resting safely on bracket feet.
Crafted with premium materials, the mahogany wood grain has a deep reddish finish that shows beautifully in natural light.
Condition Report
This cabinet is in sturdy condition with a solid structure and clean interiors. Minor wear consistent with its age includes:

Upper Glass Trim: There is a small, tight crack in the wood molding on one of the glass cabinet window panes. It is structurally sound and does not impact the stability of the glass or frame.

Veneer (Exterior Side): There is a small missing portion of mahogany veneer on the side edge of the cabinet.

Veneer (Interior Lip): A small section of veneer is missing on the lip where the lower cabinet doors meet when closed.
- Lower Cabinet Interior: This unit originally had a lower shelf supported by wood wedges. A previous owner removed the shelf along with one of the wooden support wedges, which took a small layer of the surface wood from the back panel with it when pulled free. This is cosmetic and entirely hidden inside the closed lower cabinet.
The lower cabinet is currently a wide-open, spacious storage compartment. A shelf is not required to use this space, and it works perfectly as-is for storing larger, taller, or bulkier items. However, if you prefer a divided layout, we have a color-matched vintage wood panel on hand in our workshop. We can custom-cut and install a sturdy new middle shelf for you prior to shipping.
