Lovely, colonial, twin-sized bed set salvaged from an old home in Scranton, PA. Made by "J.B. Van Sciver Company" was a furniture manufacturer and retailer founded in Camden, New Jersey, in 1881 by Joseph Bishop Van Sciver. The company was known for making and selling various styles of furniture. The whole bed frame is made of solid wood. The bed set includes a headboard, footboard, 2 rails, and 3 wooden slats.

Notice the spindles, the cannonball finials and all of the turned (carved), details on the piece! Truly gorgeous.

Our carpenter thoroughly inspected the pieces and found no repairs to make, nor anything to reinforce. the head and foot boards just have nicks, light scratches, common wear for old used furniture. The worst blemish we could find is a chip on one of the back of the footboard (see last photo). The set is strong, sturdy, and ready for a lifetime of service!
