Beautiful antique pedestal writing desk, showcasing exceptional traditional craftsmanship. This piece is constructed from premium mahogany wood and veneers, displaying a striking grain pattern across the entire desktop, side panels, and drawer faces. The double serpentine front profile provides a timeless silhouette, while the shaped kneehole is accented by elegant decorative brackets at the top corners.

This desk is incredibly substantial, heavy, and built with robust joinery designed to last for generations. The reverse side is fully finished with matched mahogany panels, allowing it to be floating or displayed in the center of an office space.

Designed with great attention to detail, the desk features a central drawer flanked by matching pedestal drawers, all fitted with decorative ornate brass drop handles. For smart storage, the bottom-right opening is engineered as a single, extra-deep filing drawer, cleverly disguised with two separate drawer fronts to maintain the visual symmetry of the nine-drawer configuration. The remaining drawers on the left and upper right provide ample graduated storage.

Condition-wise, all the joints are secure, and the structural integrity remains strong, solid, and free of any warp or wobble. Cosmetically, there is normal wear including light scuffs, minor finish variations, and small surface scratches consistent with use. There is a minor separation at the front right corner of the plinth base (as highlighted in the tenth photo). The underlying wood is solid, making this an ideal piece to use immediately!
