Elegant, antique end or side table salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. Made by "Forbert of Virginia" which was known for making sturdy wood furniture during the 1940s.

The frame is made of solid Mahogany. The under layers of the tops are made of Masonite, and the tabletops are veneered with leather. Masonite hardboard offers advantages over traditional wood panels, including being less prone to warping, having a smoother surface, and being easier to work with.

The table has 2 tiers and 4, turned (carved) legs.

Notice how the shelves are curved and all of the beautiful accents and carvings all over!

Structurally, the table is excellent condition. Our carpenter inspected the piece from top to bottom and found no repairs to make nor anything to reinforce.

Cosmetically, the table is in good shape and just has nicks, scratches, and spots of worn finish which you would expect to find on an old, used, piece of furniture. The worst blemishes are on the leather tops with small nicks and discolorations (see close up photos). However, there are no breaks, cracks, rot, or warp. All of the joints are tight, and overall, the table is strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service!

* Please note that we plan to ship the table disassembled, with the legs off. Not only will this lower our cost to ship, it will also ensure the safety of the legs during transit. Every time that we've filed a claim for a damaged table, it was due to the legs being snapped or pushed in. The legs are super easy to put back: just screw the 4 nuts by hand and tighten with a wrench.
