Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged SOLID Oak Wood Wooden Child Children Adult Kid Porch Patio Foyer Sunroom Knitting Rocking Rocker Chair

Elegant, antique, rocking chair salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. It's made of solid oak with a purple seat/cushion.

The backrest has a beautiful, mission-style design with a vertical center rail for back support. Under the seat are 4 legs connected together by stretchers. The front legs are of a cabriole design and the back legs curved backwards.

This chair actually has a caned seat underneath the cushion, however, the cane is ripped. So, the previous owner installed a fabric seat over it (see photos #5 - #9).

The fabric seat he installed isn't new at all. It's actually a vintage piece. The seat was produced by the "Economy Seat Company" in Chicago, Illinois. It was most likely made in the 40's or 50's.


The seat fits almost perfectly with the chair, and is also easy to be removed, but if you're looking to use the chair as it was originally intended to be used, you will have to re-cane the seat.

On the bottom of the blades, the previous owner added green felt pads for protection. These can easily be removed.

Our carpenter inspected the chair from top to bottom, and didn't need to make any repairs, nor needed to reinforce anything. All of the joints are tight, and there is no looseness at any point.

Considering its age, the chair is in great condition with only the typical nicks and scratches that you would expect to find on an old, used rocking chair. There are no breaks, deep gouges, rot, or warp. Even the finish is great shape. The chair is ready for another lifetime of service.
