28"x24" Antique Vintage Old Salvaged Reclaimed 1900 "Imperial" JL Mott Victorian Earthenware Bathroom Wall Sink Original Nickel Brass Fixtures

Rare, antique, wall sink salvaged from a 1906, Tudor style home in Princeton, NJ (see last 2 photos). It was made by, "JL Mott Iron Works," around the turn of the previous century.

The sink is made entirely of earthenware and is completely white. It is incredibly heavy for its size and will need to be installed with a wall-mounted bracket as well as 2 legs in front or a center pedestal. It still has its original, nickel-plated brass fixtures.

There are lovely, hand-painted decorations around the skirt and at the top of the basin, under the faucet. Except for the line that encircles the top of the basin, all painted decorations are intact and still vibrant.

There is plenty of crazing (tiny cracks in the finish) in the bowl and along the outer edges.

The previous owner sold it to us because he remodeled the bathroom and it didn't fit in with the new layout that he planned. Considering that the sink is about 120 years old it's in great condition. There are some chips along the back, upper edge where the sink connected to the wall and there are 3 tiny chips that we put together in a single photo. The worst blemish is a fingernail-sized break in one of the outer corners (directly next to a painted seashell motif)--see close up photo. It was filled in long ago with some kind of composite and is very hard to spot unless you are looking for flaws.

We used to clean sinks like this, but we haven't been in a location with a water source and drain in a long time. However, we know that sinks like this can clean to a brilliant shine with just water, detergent, and a plastic scouring pad.

Earthenware sinks this old, in such good condition are hard to come by. It's ready for another lifetime of service. Don't miss out!
