Lovely, Victorian, upholstered, shield-back chair salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. The frame is made of cherry wood and has a reddish stained finish. It has a gorgeous floral Fabric seat design.

The wooden frame has lots of elegant, ornate carvings and details, with the most ornate part being the center of the backrest which forms a shield-shape, thus the given name, "shieldback chair".


There is a small break on the back backrest (see last photo). However, with a stain pen and other tools, we were able to make it blend in almost completely with the surrounding pieces of wood.

Our carpenter inspected the chair from top to bottom, and didn't need to make any repairs or tighten anything as the chair is strong and sturdy. The fabric is also in great condition with no rips, tears or odors.

Expect nicks and light scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, or warp. This chair is ready for another lifetime of service.
