Handsome, dining chair salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. The chair is made of solid wood and has a caned seat. It's stained and finished (unpainted).
It has a gorgeous design and includes 5 spindles in the backrest and turned (carved) rails. The front legs are carved and the back legs are tapered.
Our carpenter inspected the chair from top to bottom, and didn't need to glue or reinforce anything. Overall, the chair is strong and sturdy.
Obviously, the cane is ripped and will need to be replaced If you aren't a fan of caned seats, you can add a cushion seat over it.
The chair is in great structural condition considering that it's at least 100 years old. Expect the typical nicks, scratches, and small spots of worn finish that you would expect to find on an old, used chair. There are no breaks, gouges, rot, or warp.
